I think we would all agree that accessories have the ability to take any room to the next level. A fun way to add even more personality to your living room is to accessorize your coffee table. But where should you begin? It isn’t as complicated as you might think. I’ve outlined three easy ways to style a coffee table for every table shape. I’m keeping it simple by using a decorative tray in each example. To me, a tray really provides a finished look by keeping everything organized. Additionally, it makes cleaning your coffee table a snap!

Rectangular Coffee Table

  • Select a rectangular tray that is 1/3 the length of your table
  • Add three items of varying heights:
    • Decorative bowl, stack of hard cover books with potted plant on top, two candles of varying heights

Shop the Look: Rectangular Tray | Candlesticks | Decorative Bowl | Potted Plant

Round Coffee Table

  • Select a round tray that is 1/3 the width of your table
  • Arrange three items in a circular fashion:
    • Decorative box, sculpture, and flowers

Shop the Look: Round Tray | Peonies | Hour Glass | Decorative Box

Square Coffee Table

  • Select a square tray that is 1/3 – 1/2 the size of your table
  • Add three items of varying heights:
    • Candle, stack of hard cover books with vignette on top, and potted plant

Shop the Look: Square Tray | Candle | Potted Plant | Faux BooksSymmetry Object

Now that you have the basic idea, you can have fun exploring more options. Play around with different accessories and bring in seasonal decor to really make the design your own. Let me know how it goes in the comments below!
